ABOUT ME

I believe in any position it is most important to approach challenges pragmatically – with passion, persistence, and excellence on a consistent basis.  To me, the perfect work environment fosters and develops this type of approach to managing others and allows excellence to evolve at each and every step.

As a business development professional, I have been encouraged to grow and develop in ways that I never thought that I would.  Working for an entrepreneurial leader has allowed me to experience and develop much differently than I had originally envisioned.  These experiences have led me to adopt the mantra “anything is possible”, and it with this attitude that I approach my work.

I am especially proud of having been chosen as the original distribution builder for the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day brand, which, from its infancy, is now the 5th largest eco-friendly household cleaning brand in the marketplace. I was an integral part of the Mrs. Meyer’s brand evolution – from its beginning stages to what it has become today, and I have found my work with this brand to be very satisfying.

I have not made “mistakes” in my career.  I have compiled experiences.  I believe that one’s career life is a journey – not a destination.

When hiring staff I identify with professionals who exhibit passion, persistence, tenacity and excellence in what they do.  I think that the professional attribute my colleagues would identify in me is that I lead by example.

Business leaders today need to be nimble, big-picture thinkers, detail oriented, passionate and persistent in their approach.  These are the qualities I possess and have demonstrated throughout my career. I will continue to live by these qualities both professionally and personally.

Over the next 3-5 years in CPG, I think that maintaining a laser focus, precision in execution and excellence in service levels will lead the way towards industry growth and development.

GETTING PERSONAL

I enjoy running, walking, biking, hiking and tennis.  I also am an active patron of the arts and love cooking, entertaining, and spending quality time with friends.

I volunteer for Homeward Bound, a not-for-profit agency that assists homeless and domestic violence families with children to achieve economic independence, secure long-term, safe, decent, affordable housing and break multi-generational cycles of homelessness and domestic violence.

My favorite vacation destination: is Southern California!

My favorite quote:

DANCE as though no one is watching you

LOVE as though you have never been hurt before

SING as though no one can hear you

LIVE as though heaven is on Earth

-Souza
