MICHAEL CARRILLO

Some people say recruiting high-powered executives is a science. Others say it’s an art. Michael Carrillo, believes in both approaches.

Michael Carrillo is the President and Co-Founder of CPGjobs, the leading talent acquisition and networking resource in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry (CPG).

Following a successful twenty-year career in CPG during which he help create and run a groundbreaking retail rebate program for Eckerd’s, Long’s, Rite Aid, Walgreen’s and others, Michael began his recruiting career in 1997 with Sales Management Resources. He founded his own recruitment firm, Network Resource Recruiting in 1999, which evolved into CPGjobs in 2002.

Carrillo developed CPGjobs to combine the best attributes of online candidate systems with person-to-person outreach and support. The result, he says, is “a unique CPG candidate talent network that provides our clients with the best of both worlds.”

Michael’s broad range of industry contacts has served his clients well. Over the years, more than 200 top corporations have used CPGjobs to recruit experienced CPG talent.

Michael Carrillo is a frequent presence at industry events and actively supports diversity and inclusion in the workplace. He is a supporting member of the National Black MBA Association, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, the Network of Executive Women and the Society of Human Resource Management.

Michael Carrillo is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and lives in Pasadena, California with his wife and business partner, Penelope Sallberg-Carrillo.

PENELOPE SALLBERG

As Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of CPGjobs Penlope Sallberg works every day to bring Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) leading companies and candidates together. Sallberg and Michael Carrillo founded CPGjobs because they saw a need that no one else was filling. Job boards were untargeted and ineffective and traditional recruiters were limited and expensive.

Sallberg’s first real job was with the phone company, where she became the youngest Traffic Operations Manager they ever had. Her diverse corporate career covers many of the same sectors where she now recruits. She began at Design Tek as a temporary employee and rose from Credit Manager to Office Manager in six months. She worked in L.A.’s booming fashion industry and in the Organic Produce Industry before moving to the House of Marketing in Pasadena, where she served as both the Office Manager and Art Director.

Sallberg was born and raised in Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley, attended Pepperdine University, and is a graduate of the California State University at Northridge. She lives in Pasadena, Calif., in a restored California Craftsman home with her husband and business partner Michael Carrillo. They have three children and two grandsons.
