SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Head Brewer, the Brewery Associate will be involved in all aspects of working in the cellar of the brewery and assisting with brewhouse operations up to and including learning how to brew. This position reports directly to the Head Brewer for daily operations and to Jen Brinton for HR for all human resource and company asset factors. The hours for this position will be 10am – 6pm.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Working effectively in a team environment while treating coworkers with dignity and respect. The Brewery Associate will handle cellar, brewhouse and QC responsibilities. The Brewery Associate will be expected to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude while maintaining focused on safety and quality of work. 

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS

·      Maintain workplace safety while upholding quality standards.

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·      Safely use powered industrial moving equipment: fork truck, scissor lift and walker stacker.

·      Transfer beer from fermenters to brite tanks.  

·      CIP tanks and cellar equipment.

·      Dry hop, puree and fine beers.

·      Check gravities daily using the Anton Par density meter.

·      Relieve head brewer at end of his shift and finish brewhouse operations. This will typically consist of boiling wort, transferring to whirlpool, knocking out to fermenters and CIP’ing brewhouse.

·      Train on all aspects of brewing to be able to cover for head brewer. 

·      Safely lift, move and manipulate raw materials, hoses, parts, pumps, buckets and reservoirs.

·      Maintain accurate and legible records.

·      Maintain sanitation of all beer contact surfaces and equipment.

·      Perform routine housekeeping and the cleaning of entire brewing facility.

·      Offload delivery trucks using fork trucks and store materials.

·      Backup other brewery functions as necessary. 

·      Other duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION:

This is a full-time position with a competitive wage; medical, dental and vision benefits or stipend for plan obtained elsewhere; 4% matched 401K plan; paid-time-off; 9 paid holidays.
